Heather's Visit Day One

We were so excited and happy to have our daughter Heather come for a short visit!  We were anxious to show her how we live and what we do and to see this lovely country of Kenya.

Finally found Heather at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport.  Glad she had an international cell phone or we would have been driving round and round the loop and never finding her!!  Here she is with two big suitcases of stuff for me!!!  Some of my clothes.  Taco seasoning that I like.  Antihistimines for LeRon.  It was like Christmas morning to open her suitcases!

So happy to see my little girl.  (One of my little girls anyway).

Here's Heather in our homey little flat.  She said it was nicer in 3-dimensions than in photos.  We like it.

When you see something you want, you should get it because you never know if you'll see it again.  So we walked down the road to this stand of Kenyan handicrafts.  Silas brings his woven wares every day and is happy for a sale or two in a day.  He is holding the grasses that are used to weave his products.  He dyes them by boiling leaves or flowers so everything is from nature.

Heather liked the red table runner that I have so we saw that he had another and she grabbed it before someone else could.

Our neighbor Jaku invited us to go to an evening Carol Festival at the Karen Blixen Museum.  There were hundreds of people there, all with candles and singing Christmas carols.  It was lovely.

We stayed for awhile and then left as Heather needed to sleep.  It was a nice Christmasy event.  Nice to be with other Christians at Christmas Time.
